New Bookshelf

Had to include Peanut's bookshelf as well...

Here are a few pictures of Joshua's new bookshelf. In case it is too hard to really see, it is in the shape of a castle with the walls looking like cracking stone.

New Direction?!?

Anyone else as amazed as I am to read the Dems "New Direction for America"? In a nutshell:

Make Health Care More Affordable
Lower Gas Prices and Achieve Energy Independence
Help Working Families
Cut College Costs
Ensure Dignified Retirement: Prevent the privatization of Social Security\Require Fiscal Responsibility

(For full article: http://www.democraticleader.house.gov/press/releases.cfm?pressReleaseID=1628 )

No matter how you examine these, what jumps out is...WE ARE GOING TO RAISE YOUR TAXES!

Noticeably abscent in this list:
Global war on terror- They cannot agree on what to do, so play osterich and stick your head in the sand and hope it goes away.
Immigration- I guess they figure billions wasted in illigals getting benefits, healthcare, etc is OK...it can be paid for by higher taxes
Economy/job creation: If it is so bad as they keep saying, why are they not addressing it as a platform topic? Truth is there is nothing to attack, as the economy is strong and unemployment is very low...why? Say it with me...TAX CUTS WORK, every time they are tried.

Bottom line, nothing new:
We (democrats) are weak on defense, will raise taxes to pay for creating an entitlement class which is ever growing, whereby solidifying their dependency on government and, ultimately, keeping us in power so as not to lose those "entitlements"
